Basketball Recap: Central Valley Falcons vs. Lassen Grizzlies
Central Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 68-38 loss at the hands of the Lassen Grizzlies. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Grizzlies this season, with their most recent loss being a 62-21 defeat back in January.
Lassen's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nellie Ratcliff, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Ratcliff is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kinley Somerville, who posted 17 points in addition to six boards and three steals.
Central Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Lassen, their record now sits at 9-15.
The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Central Valley will head out on the road to square off against Orland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Orland will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Central Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lassen, they and Anderson will meet on Tuesday for a tough Bear Battle.
