Recap: Chula Vista Spartans vs. Montgomery Aztecs
The Chula Vista Spartans suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Montgomery, falling 66-27. While losing is never fun, Chula Vista can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 922nd, while Montgomery is ranked 411th).
Despite the loss, Chula Vista saw an underclassman step up: Malissa Mckoy dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds. Mckoy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Paula Zumstein, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Chula Vista will look to defend their home court on Friday against Victory Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Victory Christian Academy has four straight victories, Chula Vista has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field. As for Montgomery, they will head out on the road to challenge Otay Ranch at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
