Sonora waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 41-40 W against the Hughson Huskies. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Huskies back in January, they had to take a 41-26 loss.

Sonora's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella Kaiser, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Faught, who put up 13 points.

When it comes to explaining why Hughson lost, don't look at Peyton Avila. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points and three steals. What's more, Avila also posted a 57% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Leah Hobby, who had five points along with six boards and three steals.

Sonora's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Hughson, they dropped their record down to 2-20 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight at home.

Sonora wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 32-25 loss against Ripon on the 7th. As for Hughson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-32 defeat against Orestimba on the 7th.
