Baseball Game Preview: Jackson County Panthers vs. Atlantic Eagles

The Jackson County Panthers will take on the Atlantic Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson County's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Atlantic's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Jackson County played against South Gwinnett on Friday and won via forfeit.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Atlantic turned things around against Glades Central on Friday. They blew past the Raiders 15-7.

Thomas Krolikowski and Rouss Doverno did most of the damage at the plate: Krolikowski went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Doverno went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Doverno is becoming a predictor of Atlantic's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 2-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Bird, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Atlantic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

The win was the third in a row for Jackson County, bringing their record up to 12-11. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Atlantic, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
