Basketball Game Preview: Blair Vikings vs. Temple City Rams

Blair is 0-10 against Temple City since February of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Blair Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Temple City Rams at 5:30 p.m.

Blair is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They had to suffer through a 92-7 loss at the hands of South Pasadena. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1278th, while the Tigers are ranked 261st).

Meanwhile, Temple City made easy work of Mayfair on Saturday and carried off a 60-34 victory. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.

Blair better keep an eye on Alexis Yoshimura. She was instrumental in Temple City's win, going 9 of 14 from beyond the arc on her way to 31 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Yoshimura a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Yoshimura, who posted eight points and five steals.

Temple City has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Blair, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Blair took a serious blow against Temple City in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 59-28. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Temple City's Erica Yang, who shot 4-for-4 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
