Baseball Recap: Schoharie Find Success

Schoharie got themselves on the board against Oppenheim-Ephratah on Wednesday, but Oppenheim-Ephratah never followed suit. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hawks, sneaking past 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since April 28th.

The result came thanks to Noah Spencer's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks. Schoharie is 3-1 when Spencer posts ten or more strikeouts, but 3-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Caleb Cain was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Schoharie's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-15.

Looking ahead, Schoharie will face off against Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Oppenheim-Ephratah does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
