Softball Recap: Greenbrier Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Greenbrier had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Glascock County Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 back in August.

Bella McGowan looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brooke Raymond was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Ava Hamilton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Greenbrier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Greenbrier's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Glascock County, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-6.

Coming up, Greenbrier will host Hart County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Glascock County, they will face off against Lakeside at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
