Basketball Game Preview: West Branch Warriors vs. Glendale Vikings

West Branch is 1-9 against Glendale since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The West Branch Warriors will face off against the Glendale Vikings at 7:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

West Branch is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Mount Union on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. West Branch was beaten by Mount Union 62-26. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-14.

Meanwhile, Glendale suffered their biggest defeat since December 26, 2024 on Thursday. They were dealt a 54-24 loss at the hands of Williamsburg. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while the Blue Pirates are ranked 90th).

West Branch will have to contain Gabby Leiden as she made an impact in Glendale's last game. She posted six points.

West Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Glendale, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-9.

West Branch suffered a grim 39-16 defeat to Glendale in their previous meeting back in January. Can West Branch avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
