Preview: Poly Parrots vs. Monroe Vikings
Poly is 10-0 against the Vikings since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Poly Parrots will look to defend their home court against the Monroe Vikings at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Poly has three straight victories, the Vikings have 26 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Poly can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 55-28 victory over North Hollywood on the road. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Poly considering their two-point performance the matchup before.
Poly got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hannah Lising out in front who scored 13 points along with four steals and two blocks. Lising has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Saldana, who scored eight points along with four steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Monroe took a serious blow against the Dons on Monday, falling 86-24. Monroe was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-16.
Poly has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Monroe, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Poly against the Vikings in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 72-2 win. With Poly ahead 47-2 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
