Softball Recap: Joseph City Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Joseph City extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 22-3 in the process. They put the hurt on the Williams Vikings with a sharp 13-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 16 games by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Staisha Murdock, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. April Neill was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple.

Joseph City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williams only posted an OBP of .278.

As for Williams, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-11. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Williams' side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reina Rocha, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Joseph City wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-6 defeat against Show Low on the 26th. As for Williams, they have also already played their next matchup, a 12-1 victory against St. Michael on the 25th.
