Softball Recap: Lexington Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lexington extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping them up to 13-9. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the St. Michael the Archangel Guardians. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-6 back in September.

Laniya Davis was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Hunter Adkins, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for St. Michael the Archangel, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-12. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

On St. Michael the Archangel's side, Sophie Young put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Young has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Lyla Ventimiglia and Samantha Dorsch did some serious damage despite the final result: Ventimiglia got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Dorsch went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Domenica Falco was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

As of now, neither Lexington nor St. Michael the Archangel have any future games scheduled.
