Baseball Recap: Miller Comes Up Short

Miller extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 4-14. They came up short against the Bishop Rosecrans Bishops, falling 12-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bishops this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 back in April.

Miller saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Hartley, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

As for Bishop Rosecrans, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Considering they have won eight matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Bishop Rosecrans' side, they let Coen Grandstaff and Jacobie Balo run wild. Grandstaff went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Balo went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Grandstaff has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Perdue, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Miller will be taking part in a tournament against Whiteoak at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bishop Rosecrans, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Berne Union at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bishops 3.3, the Rockets 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
