Baseball Game Preview: Jackson County Panthers vs. South Gwinnett Comets

The Jackson County Panthers will face off against the South Gwinnett Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Jackson County is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Jackson County and Habersham Central, and Habersham Central kept the tradition alive. The Panthers fell 7-4 to the Raiders on Wednesday.

Jackson County got a good showing from Charlie Crowe, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Crowe has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jackson County saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Price, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles. Another was Justin Mills, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

South Gwinnett played against Luella on Tuesday and won via forfeit.

Jackson County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for South Gwinnett, the win snapped their losing streak at 15 games and leaves them with a 2-16 record.
