Recap: Liberty Hurricanes vs. Pocono Mountain West Panthers
The Liberty Hurricanes entered their tilt with the Pocono Mountain West Panthers with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Liberty strolled past Pocono Mountain West with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 50-36. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Liberty also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Liberty got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Iysis Nickens out in front who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Nickens pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Emma Pukszyn, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Liberty has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Pocono Mountain West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
Liberty is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Emmaus at 8:00 p.m. on February 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Pennsylvania (Liberty is ranked 179th, while Emmaus is ranked 185th). Pocono Mountain West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
