Soccer Game Preview: Sequoia vs. Woodside

The Sequoia Ravens are taking a road trip to face off against the Woodside Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sequoia's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Sequoia's offense. They fell just short of Aragon by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Ravens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Dons are ranked 72nd).

Meanwhile, Woodside hasn't lost a match since January 8th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. Neither they nor Menlo-Atherton could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Woodside's draw gives them a new season record of 5-2-4. As for Sequoia, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7-2.

Sequoia beat Woodside by a goal in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 2-1. Does Sequoia have another victory up their sleeve, or will Woodside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
