Basketball Recap: Liberty Charter Find Success

Liberty Charter hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 25-23 victory over the Ocean View Christian Patriots on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2017.

Despite the loss, Ocean View Christian still got an impressive performance from Montse Acosta, who posted 12 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. That was a full 52.2% of Ocean View Christian's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Liberty Charter's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-12. As for Ocean View Christian, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Liberty Charter and Ocean View Christian's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Liberty Charter and High Tech NC (who has only given up 28.25 points per game) will meet at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ocean View Christian will take on Mountain Empire at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, a squad that's only allowed 22.5 points per game.
