Football Recap: First Flight Takes a Loss

First Flight extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They took a blow against the Northeastern Eagles, falling 47-6. The Nighthawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-0.

As for Northeastern, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four games by 32 points or more so far this season.

Zak Ishman was his usual excellent self, throwing for 203 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. He has become a key player for Northeastern: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. The Eagles' leading receiver Uzziah Harney was Ishman's top target yet again, picking up 35 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 42 yards and one score.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Flight will host Pasquotank County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 8.6 points per game this season, so the Nighthawks' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Northeastern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hertford County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.14 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
