Basketball Game Preview: Mission Bay Buccaneers vs. Kearny Komets

The Mission Bay Buccaneers will venture away from home to face off against the Kearny Komets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mission Bay's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Friday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mission Bay is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Patrick Henry on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Mission Bay lost 43-23 to Patrick Henry. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1084th, while the Patriots are ranked 535th).

Meanwhile, Kearny was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Christian and fell 85-29.

Mission Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Kearny, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Mission Bay came up short against Kearny when the teams last played on January 10th, falling 50-45. Can Mission Bay avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
