Softball Recap: Carney Comes Up Short

Carney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pioneer-Pleasant Vale Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since August 22, 2024.

Macy Hubach made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Carney's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Pioneer-Pleasant Vale, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Carney's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Dover at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pioneer-Pleasant Vale, they are taking a road trip to take on Drummond at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
