Le Mars had won seven straight at home, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 19-5 to make it eight. Everything went their way against the Jefferson Yellowjackets as they made off with an 8-1 win. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

As for Jefferson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 17 of their last 19 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-22 record this season. Their defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

For Jefferson's part, Carley Steinspring spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Jefferson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Perrine, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Looking ahead, Le Mars will venture away from home to take on Sioux City East at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jefferson, they will host Harlan at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
