Soccer Recap: Cupertino Comes Up Short

Cupertino lost against Fremont back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cupertino Pioneers lost 4-1 to the Fremont Firebirds. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 666th, while the Firebirds are ranked 318th).

Cupertino's goal came courtesy of Lezlie Parada Martinez, who's now up to five this season.

Cupertino's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Fremont, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2-1.

Cupertino wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Monta Vista on the 28th. As for Fremont, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 4-0 win against Wilcox on the 28th.
