Softball Recap: Sullivan Wins Going Away Against St. James

While Sullivan put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for St. James. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Tigers. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Rae Corwin made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Corwin was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Blanton, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cali Koppelmann-Blue, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Sullivan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. James only posted an OBP of .118.

Sullivan's record now sits at 5-6. As for St. James, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sullivan will host Rolla at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. James, they will welcome Lebanon at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
