            Two dominant  backs in  Taeshon Martin and  Keanu Escalante are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Mount Airy Granite Bears will venture away from home to  face off against the Forbush Falcons  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Mount Airy knows how to get  points on the board -- the  team has finished with 31 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Forbush likes a good challenge.
On Friday,  everything came up roses for Mount Airy against West Stokes as the  squad secured  a  37-3 win. The  victory continues a trend for the Granite Bears in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.
Meanwhile,  it was a Battle of the Birds when Forbush duked it out with Surry Central on Friday. The Falcons walked away with  a   17-6  win over the Golden Eagles. The game was the first time the Falcons have beaten the Golden Eagles on their field since October 4, 2019.
Mount Airy better keep an eye on  Tyler Winters. He was instrumental in Forbush's win, rushing for 73 yards and a pair of  touchdowns, while also throwing for 105 yards  on eight of 20 attempts. That's the most  rushing yards  Winters has posted since back in September of 2024.
 One reason for the win was Forbush's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  Devin Brown and  Tucker Durham, who racked up  four sacks between them. With that strong performance,  Durham is now averaging an impressive 5.1  total tackles per game.
 Mount Airy's record is now 5-2. As for Forbush, their record now sits at an identical 5-2.
