Baseball Recap: Stone Takes a Loss

The matchup between Stone and Vancleave on Saturday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Tomcats fell 11-8 to the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 1-0 loss on Thursday.

Brax Batson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Charley Paslay also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Stone and nudges their season record down to 13-9. As for Vancleave, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Stone is set to challenge their familiar foe Northeast Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Vancleave will take on rival East Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
