Basketball Recap: Mt. Whitney Comes Up Short

Mt. Whitney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 57-29 loss at the hands of the Redwood Rangers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pioneers of the 34-10 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Jazmaine Stewart was her usual excellent self, going 9 of 13 en route to 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals for Redwood. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Tayo, who posted nine points and five steals.

Mt. Whitney's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Redwood, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.

Mt. Whitney will venture away from home to face off against Golden West at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Redwood, they will host Porterville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Redwood is facing Porterville at the right time seeing as Porterville is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
