Basketball Game Preview: Arapahoe Warriors vs. Alma Cardinals

Arapahoe hasn't had much luck against Alma recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Arapahoe Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Alma Cardinals at 6:45 p.m.

Arapahoe's tournament run continued when they took on Southern Valley on Thursday. Arapahoe took a 50-31 bruising from Southern Valley. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Arapahoe had strong showings from Clara Hilker, who posted nine points, and Suttyn Shafer, who scored eight points and five steals. Shafer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Alma faced off against Paxton on Saturday. Alma claimed a resounding 48-21 victory over Paxton. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Alma has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Arapahoe, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Arapahoe took a serious blow against Alma in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 74-36. Can Arapahoe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
