Recap: Valencia Vikings vs. West Ranch Wildcats
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sierra Canyon, the Valencia Vikings were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They slipped by West Ranch 44-43. That's another feather in the cap for Valencia, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Valencia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cara McKell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Keira McLaughlin was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Valencia pushed their record up to 10-15 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for West Ranch, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season.
Valencia will head out on the road to challenge Canyon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. As for West Ranch, they will be playing at home against Vaughn at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
