After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Canaan, Newtown was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the New Milford Green Wave 63-7. With the Nighthawks ahead 57-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Cole Stockwell had a dynamite game, rushing for 153 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries.
Stockwell was just one part of a punishing run game: Newtown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 219 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Milford only rushed for 26 rushing yards.
The victory got Newtown back to even at 1-1. As for New Milford, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
