Basketball Game Preview: Burroughs Bears vs. Crescenta Valley Falcons

The Burroughs Bears will square off against the Crescenta Valley Falcons at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Burroughs will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Burroughs' tournament run continued when they took on Bishop Alemany on Saturday. Burroughs came out on top against Bishop Alemany by a score of 63-50. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Warriors are ranked 390th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Burroughs' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Mariam Fahs, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards, and Valentina Morales, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave Fahs a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Mena, who posted eight points and five assists.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Crescenta Valley challenged Oak Park on Friday. Crescenta Valley took a hard 66-47 fall against Oak Park.

Crescenta Valley's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Burroughs, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
