Softball Recap: Lincoln's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Lincoln had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Sioux City West Wolverines on Thursday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 11-4 victory two weeks ago.

Jocelyn Ridder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mallory Townstead, who went 2-for-4 with two triples and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Townstead, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
