Bellevue East and Lincoln Southwest squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Bellevue East had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Silver Hawks by a score of 2-1. The Chieftains' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Haley Cheshier made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Bellevue East's defeat dropped their record down to 24-10. As for Lincoln Southwest, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 32-3.

Bellevue East wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 4-3 loss against Millard West on the 16th. As for Lincoln Southwest, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-0 win against Omaha Westside on the 15th.
