Basketball Recap: Xavier Deleeuw and Colt Crump Secure Win for Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association

Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 6th (when they won 70-43). They blew past the Surry HomeSchool Runnin' Patriots 74-51. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Stallions also won the last time the pair played back in February.

Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association was led to victory by Colt Crump and Xavier DeLeeuw. Crump went 9-for-14 to rack up 26 points, while DeLeeuw shot 40% from the field on his way to 21 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. Thanks to that strong game, Crump now owns an excellent 46.6% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Everett Barker, who posted seven points and six boards.

Surry HomeSchool's loss came despite strong showings from Dylan Butcher and Hayden Williams. Butcher earned 14 points, while Williams scored 11 points.

The win got Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association back to even at 4-4. As for Surry HomeSchool, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

Coincidentally, Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association and Surry HomeSchool will both be playing South Guilford HomeSchool the next time they take the court. The Stallions will host the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Runnin' Patriots will head out to face them at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
