Basketball Recap: Mission Bay Comes Up Short

Mission Bay played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Del Norte Nighthawks and fell 53-23. The Buccaneers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-6.

Del Norte's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mireia Herrera, who went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Cole, who posted ten points along with six assists and six boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Mission Bay and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Del Norte, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7.

Mission Bay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-14 defeat against Scripps Ranch on the 14th. As for Del Norte, they will head out to face off against Oceanside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
