Baseball Recap: Leo Finds Home Field Redemption Against Bogan

There's no place like home for Leo, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Bogan Bengals on Tuesday. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Devin Vassel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Leo let Edwin Hernandez and Aiden Lott run wild. Hernandez scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Lott went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave Lott a new career-high. Jason Lee was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Leo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Leo back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Leo will be playing in front of their home fans against Lindblom at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bogan, they are taking a road trip to square off against Blue Island Eisenhower at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
