Basketball Game Preview: Kennedy Thunderbirds vs. Wasco Tigers

The Kennedy Thunderbirds will venture away from home to challenge the Wasco Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 27.

Last Thursday, Kennedy came up short against Delano and fell 43-32.

Meanwhile, Wasco had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against McFarland by a score of 46-37 on Tuesday.

Wasco's win came from a few key players Kennedy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Vianey Velasquez, who posted 12 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelynn Juarez, who had six points along with eight boards and six steals.

Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Wasco, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11.

Kennedy suffered a grim 41-19 defeat to Wasco in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Kennedy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
