Football Recap: Springfield/Comfrey Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Springfield/Comfrey had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Canby Lancers, posting a 68-7 win. Given Springfield/Comfrey's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Canby is ranked 135th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Springfield/Comfrey and Canby will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Springfield/Comfrey is set to square off against their familiar foe Murray County Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Canby will challenge rival MACCRAY at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
