Volleyball Recap: Austin Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Austin can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets on Wednesday. If the Black Bears were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Yellowjackets when the teams met back in August of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Charlie Barnes paced Austin's offense, picking up seven kills. Barnes got some help from Maggie Jae Marsh and her 15 assists. Finally, Marsh was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Austin's loss dropped their record down to 45-9. As for McGill-Toolen, the victory was the 40th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 46-2.

As of now, neither Austin nor the Yellowjackets have any future games scheduled.
