Softball Recap: Mercer Comes Up Short

After soaring to 20 runs the game before, Mercer was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They lost 11-1 to the Green City Gophers. The loss continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Gophers: they've now lost three in a row.

Mercer saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Holt, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Lanie Rogers also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Mercer's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Green City, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

As of now, neither Mercer nor the Gophers have any future games scheduled.
