Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Telfair County walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Mt. Zion Eagles 3-2 on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won three games in a row.

Lylah Cate Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits.

On the hitting side, Journee Kennedy was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Telfair County's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Mt. Zion, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-10.

Telfair County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair will be back at it again later today.
