Basketball Recap: Oak Grove Classical Academy Comes Up Short

After soaring to 81 points the game before, Oak Grove Classical Academy was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They had to suffer through a 58-29 loss at the hands of the Texico Wolverines. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Owls have suffered since January 10th.

Oak Grove Classical Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Atkinson, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nico Moore, who earned eight points.

Oak Grove Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Texico, the win (which was their 12th in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Oak Grove Classical Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 36-21 loss against Magdalena on the 6th. As for Texico, they have also already played their next game, a 71-26 victory against Grady on the 6th.
