Baseball Recap: Wayne Comes Up Short

Wayne fell victim to Chapmanville Regional and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 back in April.

Wayne saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trai Hayton, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Wayne has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-22 record this season. As for Chapmanville Regional, they moved to 8-21 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Wayne didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-6 defeat against Man on the 15th. Chapmanville Regional has also already played their next game (against Oak Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
