Baseball Recap: Brookline Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Brookline took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Weston, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 9-8 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since April 22nd.

Brookline let Connor Fitzgerald and Hugh Bolinger run wild. Fitzgerald went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Bolinger went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Bolinger a new career-high. Eli Hoffman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

The win snapped Brookline's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-13 record. As for Weston, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

Brookline has already played their next contest, a 5-1 victory against Newton North on the 18th. As for Weston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-3 win against Brighton on the 18th.
