Recap: West Branch Warriors vs. Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy WolfPack
The West Branch Warriors lost against the Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy WolfPack on January 3rd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. West Branch was outmatched by the WolfPack at home and fell 69-34. While losing is never fun, West Branch can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while the WolfPack are ranked 110th).
West Branch lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jenna Mertz, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Sarah Guglielmi, who scored eight points.
West Branch has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Branch will play host again and welcome the Yellow Jackets, where tip off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Ferndale is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th.
