Softball Recap: North Platte Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

North Platte's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Scottsbluff Bearcats 12-4. Considering the Bulldogs have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Tiffany Townsend looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, North Platte let Hayden Ervin and Abby Stiffler run wild. Ervin went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Stiffler went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Stiffler has posted since back in September of 2024. Aryadnna Reyna was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

North Platte is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Scottsbluff, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: North Platte beat the Bearcats by a score of 17-4 later that day.
