Baseball Recap: Brookfield Gets the Win

Brookfield took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Masuk, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bobcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Panthers on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bobcats have posted against the Panthers since May 4, 2021.

The team relied heavily on Thomas Campanaro, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

Brookfield is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Masuk, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8.

Coming up, Brookfield will head out on the road to square off against Holy Cross at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Masuk does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
