Basketball Game Preview: Lewisburg Green Dragons vs. Loyalsock Township Lancers

The Lewisburg Green Dragons will head out to take on the Loyalsock Township Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lewisburg comes in on seven and Loyalsock Township on 11.

Lewisburg will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Central Columbia, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Lewisburg snuck past Central Columbia with a 63-59 victory on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Loyalsock Township's strategy against Bloomsburg on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Loyalsock Township blew Bloomsburg out of the water with a 53-9 final score. The Lancers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 24 points or more this season.

Lewisburg pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points per game. As for Loyalsock Township, their victory bumped their record up to 19-1.

Lewisburg ended up a good deal behind Loyalsock Township when the teams last played back in December of 2019, losing 55-39. Can Lewisburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
