La Quinta has gone 10-0 against Palm Springs recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The La Quinta Blackhawks will be playing at home against the Palm Springs Indians at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Friday, La Quinta had to suffer through a 55-28 loss at the hands of Palm Desert. The Blackhawks haven't had much luck with the Aztecs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-29, which was the final score in Palm Springs' tilt against Shadow Hills on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 699th, while the Knights are ranked 88th).

Despite the loss, Palm Springs saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Shayla Bates dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Bates is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aja Walker, who posted five points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Palm Springs has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. As for La Quinta, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.

La Quinta didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Palm Springs when the teams last played on January 8th, but they still walked away with a 32-27 victory. Does La Quinta have another victory up their sleeve, or will Palm Springs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
