Softball Recap: Martensdale-St. Mary's Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Winterset, Martensdale-St. Mary was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Charles City Comets. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted since May 30th.

Martensdale-St. Mary's is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Charles City, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

Martensdale-St. Mary's didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-8 win against Clarksville on the 21st. As for Charles City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-3 defeat against Atlantic on the 21st.
