Tift County owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Gadsden County Jaguars as they made off with a 22-0 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Blue Devils' disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 135th in Georgia, while the Jaguars are ranked 15th in Florida).

Tift County has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tift County will face off against Lee County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Gadsden County, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on East St. Louis at 7:30 p.m. on September 6.
