Soccer Game Preview: Berean Christian vs. Concord

The Berean Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Concord Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Berean Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.1 goals per game this season.

Berean Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let Mt. Diablo onto the board and left with a 7-0 win. Angie Chang was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Concord can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. Neither they nor Ygnacio Valley could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked the Bears' first draw of the season.

Berean Christian pushed their record up to 7-1-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five games. With that draw, Concord's record moves to 4-6-1.

Berean Christian took their win against Concord in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Berean Christian since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
